Baikal Institute of Nature Management
LABORATORY OF OXIDE SYSTEMS
The founder (1972) – corr-mem. of the Academy
of Sciences of the USSR M.V. Mokhosoev (1932 – 1990)
The laboratory supervisor – Doctor of Chemical
Science, professor Zh.G. Bazarova
At present the staff is comprised of 28 researchers,
among them 2 Doctors of Chemical Science, 5 Candidates of Chemical and
Physicomathematical Sciences and 10 post-graduate stuydents
The main avenue of scientific-
research work
"Creation of a scientific basis for obtaining
of new complex-oxide compounds
and materials based on them"
-
The systematic experimental study of phase equilibriums
in molibdate and tungstic systems; detection, synthesis and thorough study
of new compounds, detection of interrelation "composition – structure –
properties";
-
Elaboration of an up-to-date technology of processing,
storage and automatic retrieval of the information on complex-oxide systems
and phases;
The main results of the research
-
a new class of inorganic compounds – triple molibdates
comprised of quantivalency elements (about 300 agents) has been obtained;
-
over 450 new compound-oxides Mo (VI) and W (VI) have
been synthesized and thoroughly analyzed;
-
the creation of ferro-piezoelectric materials, piesoelectric
detectors, luminophores, laser materials, solid electrolytes and thermoindicators
on the basis of the obtained phases is proved perspective;
-
a database "Molibdates and tungstates" containing
information on phase equilibriums in 100 double, 750 triple and 400 complex-oxide
systems has been created;
-
7 monographs and more than 300 articles were published
in the capital and foreign scientific magazines; about 30 patents and licenses
were issued;
-
3 international grants have been received;
-
the researchers of the laboratory received 9 individual
Soros grants.
The researchers of the laboratory have
received grants from RFBR,
the Russian Federation State Committee
for high education,
participate in governmental scientific-technical
programmes
and international projects.
-
"Production of new materials" (in association with
the Mongolian State University, Ulan-Bator);
-
"Creation of intelligent sensors for operative monitoring
of the natural environment on the basis of compound-oxide chemicals" (in
association with the Institute of Physics, the National Academy of Sciences
of Ukraine, Kiev);
The laboratory employs modern equipment
-
an X-ray focusing chromator camera FR-552 Enraf-Nonius;
-
X-ray diffractometers;
-
derivatographs MOM;
-
infrared spectrometers;
-
a monocrystal growth unit with weight-control option
We propose the following joint projects
-
"Synthesis of complex-oxide compounds of luminoscent,
catalyst, piezo- and ferroelectrical properties";
-
"Complex-oxide crystal growth";
-
"Development of physicochemical basis for production
of new materials (cheramics, compounds, building materials, ecosafe fertilizers)
employing various types of raw materials
